Colorado Ranch 15 Minutes From Downtown Aspen Is Selling for $55 Million

Known as Moonshot Ranch, the property has a 10,000-square-foot home, 10 acres and extensive equestrian facilities

A fully equipped ranch set on 10.1 acres in Aspen, Colorado, is for sale with a $55 million price tag.

Named Moonshot Ranch, the property is set in the middle of more than 200 common irrigated acres with abundant water. 

Despite the pastoral setting, the ranch is less than a 15-minute drive from downtown Aspen, according to the listing with Steven Shane of Compass, who brought the home to the market on Monday. 

It’s “a ‘Yellowstone’-style equestrian ranch with acreage and proximity to the vibrancy of downtown Aspen and four world-class ski mountains,” Shane said. “Having 10 acres plus an additional 240 common acres 12 minutes to Aspen is an extraordinary rarity.”

There’s a 9,273-square-foot home on the property, which has eight bedrooms—including a primary suite with a private deck—eight bathrooms and two half-baths. 

The home is also made up of a large great room with high ceilings, a formal dining room that seats 14 and a three-car garage. 

Moonshot Ranch has extensive equestrian facilities with fenced pastures, a riding arena and a 2,500-square-foot, eight-stall barn with a tack room and wash area. There’s also access to trails.

The ranch is also surrounded by natural beauty made up of ponds, wildflowers, unspoiled fields and “dramatic” views of the Elk Mountain Range, Shane said. 

The seller—who bought the property in 2019 for $10 million through a limited liability company, according to property records, and could not be reached for comment—has rented out the ranch for weddings and other large gatherings. 

“Because of its uniqueness, it lends itself to parties,” Shane said. 

The ranch is being offered as fully furnished along with ranch equipment, ranch-specific vehicles, five horses, five mini horses, two alpacas and two livestock protection dogs, according to the listing.

“Most likely, the buyer will be an adventurer who enjoys outdoor activities, including all equestrian disciplines, hiking, mountain biking, motocross, snowmobiling, and cross-country skiing,” Shane said.
