Real estate investors and developers seem to always be looking for a new project. Garrett Jones, a local real estate investor, is no different.
The seven-bedroom, 13-bathroom home was listed for sale, with an asking price of $12 million, about a week ago.
The Jones’ describe the home as ancient modern and European contemporary with a farmhouse feel. The interior is detailed with overgrout stone, painted brick, wood accents, light colors and large windows. Mountain and city views can also be seen from several rooms throughout the home.
“We’ve lived here for six years, and it just never gets old to me,” Stacey Jones said. “Every single day I walk outside, I’m in awe of the surroundings. I feel like it’s a little slice of heaven that I’m really grateful for.”
Interior amenities include a study, home gym, theater and about a half-court basketball court.
The 4-acre property also features a hot tub, pool with a slide, pool house and 3,550-square-foot barn the Jones’ have used for storage and special events.
The Jones’ purchased the land for this home near West Deer Creek Canyon Road and Grizzly Drive in 2015 for $600,000, according to public records. They built the mansion in 2018.
Stacey Jones’ brother did the concept drawings and laid out the floor plan for the mansion. Centennial-based Godden | Sudik Architects was the architect on the project. Ron Sheets with Littleton-based home builder Advanced Building Concepts managed day-to-day build operations.
The property is in White Deer Valley, home to about 60 or 70 homes, according to Garrett Jones, but is part of a smaller homeowner’s association of four homes. The community offers hiking and biking trails and is about a 15-minute drive from downtown Littleton and 25 minutes from downtown Denver.
Lori Abbey with Compass is the listing agent for this sale.
“We love the outdoors,” Garrett Jones said. “We actually love where we live. We love the area.”
But now that three of their seven kids are married and one is on a church mission, leaving three left at home, it’s time for a change.
The Jones’ put an offer in on another plot of land in the area. Here Garrett Jones hopes to build a new home for his family, one with a different layout but similar in size to their current Littleton home.
“We’ve noticed our kids are not moving to Colorado — it’s expensive,” Stacey Jones said. “They’re getting married, and they’re living different places, so we just want somewhere where everybody can come and gather.”
Garrett Jones anticipates the new home will take about nine months to a year to build.
“[It’s] not that I’m bored, I just love building and creating,” he said.
